Every year without fail. I think that's a pretty nice display of love and commitment. Idk if birds can feel love, but that's one of the most healthy relationships I have ever witnessed in my life. I didn't draw Sandhill Cranes but Red-Crowned Cranes. Sounds so much more fancy. And apparently the symbolism is pretty cool too. In East Asian cultures it is widely regarded as a symbol of longevity, good fortune, and peace. So I wanted to combine both the symbolism and my own experience with this one. I threw Sage in there as well because it is one of the few plants that are flowering at this time and also it symbolizes Wisdom and Immortality apparently. So it all somehow comes together.
Originally I was going to do a whole landscape scene, but I decided to simplify it and try to make it more designy. I think I like this version better than what I originally planned for it.
How did your Week go?
#calendar #birdstr #artstr #dailydrawing #art
