For my last #2026CalendarChallenge I wanted something with a wolf. Then I was reminded of the Norse myth Sköll that chases the sun. Until Ragnarok where she catches up and eats it.

Despite the whole apocalypse bit, it's somewhat inspiring that she chases the sun everyday.
How will I carry my creative fire forward? By staying consistant like Sköll.

I am a few days late with finishing August Week 8 of the #2026CalendarChallenge
But the point is to keep going! August was a hard month for me to figure out.

I don't really have anything strongly associated with August except the seasons kind of start changing. I think this is the time when Farmer's start getting ready for the harvest too.

September – Theme: Transition
Prompt: “What are you leaving behind? What are you stepping towards?”

Examples to consider:
- Changing leaves – from green to gold, letting go gracefully
- Ripe harvests – gathering what was planted in spring
- Migrating birds – instinctively moving toward what’s next

Optional Creative Exercise – Explore transitional spaces. Focus on liminal imagery – doorways, horizons, twilight hours. Capture the feeling of being on the verge of something new.

Each page is a record of where you were and where you're heading – a visual anchor for the change in season and in yourself.

Let’s make September a turning point in more ways than one.

July's #2026CalendarChallenge "What does freedom look like for me?" I always associated the wild west with the rawest form of freedom. It's rough and unforgiving. But you absolutely can do whatever you want especially if you can avoid the authorities. Also, July is SO HOT. A desert seemed appropriate.

GM! This week has been a whirlwind 🫠 and the rest of the month looks just as hectic (if not more). Sorry in advance, I'll still aim for a weekly sketch and try to finish the #2026CalendarChallenge

I’m proud of my consistency, but life’s demands have left little room for creativity 😅

May’s theme “What is overwhelming you right now?” feels spot‑on. My take: a wizard frog overwhelmed by lush foliage.

Today is the end of the Third Week of the #2026CalendarChallenge March!
The prompt was: What is stirring beneath the surface?
This one I had a pretty clear vision, and was really easy to put down on paper. Here's what I ended up with:

For some reason Marching Hare pops up in my mind, and having it run through a field was a fun visual for me. So that's what I did. I feel like I might tweak the scale of some things, and maybe add more texture. But I will reserve that for when I have all my months done.

Today is the end of the Second week of #2026CalendarChallenge
February is the hardest month for me to pronounce 🤣
The prompt for this month was: Where does love live in my life?
Here's what I ended up with:

Every year around this time two sandhill cranes show up around my childhood home and have babies sometime later in the Spring. Every year without fail. I think that's a pretty nice display of love and commitment. Idk if birds can feel love, but that's one of the most healthy relationships I have ever witnessed in my life. I didn't draw Sandhill Cranes but Red-Crowned Cranes. Sounds so much more fancy. And apparently the symbolism is pretty cool too. In East Asian cultures it is widely regarded as a symbol of longevity, good fortune, and peace. So I wanted to combine both the symbolism and my own experience with this one. I threw Sage in there as well because it is one of the few plants that are flowering at this time and also it symbolizes Wisdom and Immortality apparently. So it all somehow comes together.
Originally I was going to do a whole landscape scene, but I decided to simplify it and try to make it more designy. I think I like this version better than what I originally planned for it.
